  13. AppMan: AppMan places a small button in the lower left, lower right, upper 
  14.     left, or upper right corner of the screen. Tapping on this button will 
  15.     popup a list of all currently running applications. You can select one,

  17.     addition to running applications, Notes, Card, and Connection are also 
  18.     in the list.

  62.     drag out the desired items. After building your cover sheet, you can beam 
  63.     it to another Newton running Fax Cover Creator. You can create as many 
  64.     different cover sheets as you like, and they will all be available in the 
  65.     cover sheet selection of the fax slip.

  105. Order Form: If you're in retail, you may look longingly at your Newton as you 
  106.     take down orders on paper. Fret no more! Order Form allows you to record 
  107.     orders directly on your Newton. You create a custom list of all your 
  108.     products, and choose a customer's purchases from a popup list. All of a 
  109.     customer's information can be recorded right on the form, along with 
  110.     credit card or check information. Product lists can be beamed from one 
  111.     Newton to another. Order Form can handle taxed and non-taxed items, with 
  112.     two levels of taxation. It can also deal with discounts (fixed and 
  113.     percentage based) and shipping costs (ditto.) When you print out an order, 
  114.     you can print it as either an invoice, packing slip, or price quote.

  149. Stand Alone, Inc.'s Freeze Utilities: A package of enhancements for the new 
  150.     freezing functionality built into Newton 2.0. It does the following:
  151.     - Turns on package freezing
  152.     - Grays frozen icons (turns them gray, rather than making them snowflakes.)
  153.     - Allows you to launch a frozen application by tapping on it's icon, rather 
  154.         than first tapping to thaw it, then tapping again to launch it.
  155.     -╩Fixes a bug in the OS, where frozen packages are refiled into their 
  156.         original (pre-frozen) folder upon thawing.

  159. Stand Alone, Inc.'s Trash Utilities: Allows you to control the animation that 
  160.     happens when you delete an item. Some people have grown tired of the 
  161.     crumple-toss effect that normally occurs, so this allows you to eliminate that.

  164. Stationery Construction Kit: Allows you to use powerful tool palettes to create 
  165.     your own stationery items for the NotePad.  This stationery will show up as 
  166.     a choice when you create new notes, and supports beaming, mailing, faxing, and

  170. Stationery Pack: Stationery Pack is a collection of seven pieces of NotePad 
  171.     stationery. These are: Blank Note, Graph Paper, Location Note, Phone

  173.     these as individual packages, allowing you to only use the ones you need. 
  174.     They all behave like the built in note types (note, outline, and 
  175.     checklist,) allowing printing, faxing, beaming, and emailing.

  179.     searching, the ability to tag names and create custom filters, a small

  190.     the caret menu, as well as create a popup menu in each corner of the Newton

  193.     control system functions, and much more.

  206.     amount of lists, each with an unlimited number of items and (you guessed 
  207.     it) an unlimited amount of information associated with each item.

  210. Wake Up Week: Wake Up Week is, at heart, a replacement for the built in overview 
  211.     in the calendar application. However, it can be configured to appear in other 
  212.     places besides just the calendar, and is much more powerful than the built in 
  213.     overview. Basically, when you open Wake Up Week you are presented with a list 
  214.     of all upcoming Meetings, Day Notes, and To Do's over a particular period. 
  215.     Initially this is one week (just like the overview in the calendar) but it is
  216.     easy to change this to view either a longer or shorter period of time. You can 
  217.     also file to dos and date items in your folders, and view only a particular 
  218.     folder's contents.

  221. El'barqs: El'barqs is a crossword letter game for the newton. It allows you
  222.     to place various letter tiles on the board to create words. You can 
  223.     play against up to three other human or Newton players.

  226. Periodic Table: Adds a new entry to the formulas app with a periodic table.
  227.     Clicking on an element brings up the data (such as atomic weight and volume) 
  228.     of it. Also, molecular weights of compounds can be found.

  231. NotePopper:    places a button in your statusBar that will pop up a list of notes
  232.     to which selected text can be appended.

  238. Scroll Menus: Scroll menus will allow any menu with too many items to fit on screen 
  239.     to scroll. If there are more items after the items shown, tapping on the down 
  240.     arrow will show the next screenful, and tapping the up arrow will show the 
  241.     previous screen. The most common use for this is the card app in the extras 
  242.     drawer. Now, if there are more than 23 packages installed on your newton, you 
  243.     can get to all of them to delete those you no longer want.

  246. Score Pad: lets you keep score in two player games.

  249. Speed: Speed is a collection of improvements to the built in names file. The
  250.      main one is a modification to the filing system that speeds it up by as 
  251.      much as 1000%. It also allows emails address to be viewed in the card 
  252.      view, and provides several methods of quickly accessing the names file.
  253.      Speed also speeds up the Note Pad by a similar amount.

  256. Jumble: a word search game. Jumble will create puzzles with words hidden
  257.     within. There are preset word lists, or you can create completely
  258.     random puzzles.

  263. Constants: Places a new entry in your formulas app that allows access to a
  264.     variety of physical constants.

  267. Drop To Do: An enhancement to the standard To Do list on the Newton, Drop To Do
  268.     allows you to jot down To Do items in the note pad and drag and drop them
  269.     onto a small button, adding them to the To Do list. It also lets you set
  270.     priorities on various To Do items (from 1 to 100) and can alert you when
  271.     you have an upcoming To Do.

  274. KeyMan: Adds a row of keys to the normal keyboard (select all, cut, copy,
  275.     paste, open Grafitti, front-delete,) a calculator display to the numeric
  276.     keypad (for small calculations,) and a month view to the date keypad (to
  277.     paste a selected day into the current text view.)

  280. Clipper: Clipper places a button in the status bar of the notepad, or a floating, 
  281.     draggable button anywhere on the newton screen. You can select text and drag 
  282.     it onto the button to 'clip' it. Tapping on the button will bring up a list of 
  283.     all such clippings. Selecting one will paste it after the current insertion 
  284.     point.

  287. Note Man:    Places a small button in the upper left of your screen that will
  288.     close the note pad, or, if another app is in front of it, will bring the
  289.     note pad to the front.

  293.     like a sheet of graphpaper (note: does *not* show up on printing or faxing.)

  301. Kwoter: A simple applet that will put up a humorous or insightful quote when you
  302.     turn on your newton or awaken it from sleep. It can be configured to wait for 
  303.     a specific length of time before showing, using the prefs.

  309. Names To All Overview: Sets the name file to open to all names in the overview
  310.     mode at startup, so that names app opens faster.

  315.     draggable.

  318. Librarian: Saves your place in books and bookmarks you make through hard
  319.     restarts. Also allows you to use the power switch as a 'next page' button.

  324.     starts with the letter written.

  328.     that information entered there always ends up on the internal store.

  346. More Folders: More Folders is a utility to improve the accessibilty of the 
  347.     filing on the Newton, as well as to allow for more filing categories. 
  348.     When you want to file an item, you tap on the folder icon, and a pop up 
  349.     list pops up. The current folder has a check mark next to it, and you can 
  350.     file an item simply by tapping on the new folder. To edit your folders, 
  351.     you tap on the "Edit Folders" item (the last one on the list.) Included 
  352.     in the package is Scroll Menus, so that if you want more than 19 folders 
  353.     you can view them all on screen.

  356. PackFix: PackFix is a small autopart (no extras drawer icon) which will check 
  357.     each installed store (on a message pad these are the internal RAM and a 
  358.     single PCMCIA memory card, if installed) for bad package data. If such bad 
  359.     data exists, if could be causing -10401 errors when your newton starts up or 
  360.     the storage card is inserted. PackFix will remove this bad data and report 
  361.     to you it's findings.
